“The whole book feels ‘in the moment.’ Like the best biographies, it feels so real, authentic, and interesting. And like good fiction, it is crafted, creative, and engrossing.”

A brilliant read. I love the format of the vignettes/episodes, which is so much better than the usual rather clunky way that chronological narrative order can dominate a biography, losing vibrancy and sometimes masking what is most important. The whole book feels “in the moment. Like the best biographies, it feels so real, authentic, and interesting.  And like good fiction, it is crafted, creative, and engrossing. I was struck by universal themes.
