“Reads like a novel.”

This book is a page-turner. I’m not sure how the author accomplished this in a memoir, but she did, and it reads like a novel. One of the most striking aspect of it is the contradictions in her experience, like her insecurity and self-loathing vs. her remarkable strength of character, conviction, and drive to become the first female cantor ever.
